To recognize and respect cultural and ethnical differences and, at the same time, guarantee the equality of treatment, seems like a paradox. However, it is among the crucial challenges that plural democracies are faced with nowadays. It results in multiple problems, such as the struggle for recognition of cultural minorities or the actualization of universal human rights.

The contributors of this anthology will discuss these issues. As the editors of this anthology, our goal was to combine knowledge and opinions from both various disciplines and multiple cultures to unfold the complexity and variety of questions that have to be solved if we do see public space also as a place of intercultural recognition.
