Outstanding Broadway Dramas and Comedies

Many Pulitzer Prize-winners in the theater award categoy started their international careers right from Broadway. Among the laureates were dramatists like Eugene O'Neill who earned four awards. Double prize-winner Tennessee Williams was praised for "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Thornton Wilder's plays "Our Town' and "The Skin of Our Teeth" were successful as well as Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman". Edward Albee's "Three Tall Women" or Alfred Uhry's "Driving Miss Daisy" represent the younger generation of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwrights.
