Shaping better Technologies

Philosophy of Technology is dealing with question of a fundamental understanding of technology and its multifaceted interaction with human existence. The book series "Philosophy of Technology" is based on the assumption according to which either fundamental questions of philosophy concerning technology has not yet been posed or they will require new efforts to answer them when confronted with new organizational, economical and technological developments as globalization, economization, growth of world population, ecological crises, conflicts between south and north, world wide ranging communication technologies and new ways of information distribution. The question: "Do we really have the technology we need and do we actually need the technology we have?" demonstrate these relations, which are touching and affecting everybody in our everyday technological world.
