This volume of Eco-ethica is the first one
published by LIT Verlag, which will take over the
commercialization of this journal, formerly published in
Tokyo, Japan.
The main theme of this volume of Eco-ethica is
. A group of philosophers
examine the relationship between nature and culture in an
eco-ethical perspective, i. e., in considering human nature
and the human environment confronted with today’s
technological conjuncture.
The second part celebrates the 100th anniversary of the
French philosopher Paul Ricoeur (1913 – 2005), who
supported the eco-ethica approach and was an inspiration to
many participants in the annual eco-ethical symposia. It
includes an unpublished text by Ricoeur.
