Beschreibung

This collection of studies by American and European scholars
explores the various ways in which American evangelicals
found their way to postwar Europe, what they did there, and
how they were received. With attention to the American and
European organizations that brokered their mission, the
social and political settings that framed their activities,
and the mixed results of their efforts, these studies
provide a much-needed overview how an important
twentieth-century style of Christianity “returned” to
Europe.

John Corrigan is the Lucius Moody Bristol
Distinguished Professor of Religion, Professor of History,
and Distinguished Research Professor at Florida State
University. He is the author of many books on religion in
America, religious intolerance, religion and emotion, and
space/place.

Frank Hinkelmann is President of Martin Bucer Seminary
International (Bonn, Germany) and lecturer of church history
and the history of missions. His main area of research is
the history of evangelicalism and the history of the
Evangelical Alliance in Europe.
