Beschreibung
Demographic change in Europe has been a topic of great public and
political interest since the 1990s. The central aim of this book is to
create new questions for research by connecting the topics of demographic
change, of the restructuring of the welfare state and of change in gender
relations. The articles have a closer look at the interrelation of these
social and political changes by highlighting different national situations
as well as different theoretical and empirical aspects. They try to
reframe the `problem’ of demographic change by analyzing it in the context
of gender and welfare state transformations.
