Beschreibung
Any mention of Cameroon literature will bring to mind names such as Mongo
Beti, Ferdinand Oyono and René Philombe. Cameroonians writing in English
are, to a large extent, still unknown both within and outside of their
national territory. Cameroon literature in English has come of age and
deserves to be given serious attention by scholars to move to the centre
of critical discussions of the New English Literatures.
The essays in this collection are divided into three sections: narrating
the nation, gender representations and cultural encounters and cast a
refreshing and original glance on fictional and dramatic literature in
Cameroon in English.
