Freedom is modernity’s most important but also its most controversial
promise. No other concept has led to so many expectations and
disappointments, change and destruction. In this book Wolfgang Huber’s
concept communicative freedom is proposed as a contribution to the debate
on freedom within modernity. It is argued that communicative freedom
integrates radically different understandings of freedom into one
comprehensive concept. This concept allows for a constructive and critical
affirmation of modernity.
