Beschreibung
This is a deeply moving personal testimony of a
woman with a mixed ethnic and religious background, who grew
up as an outcast dissident thinker under an authoritarian
regime and took the risk of a dangerous illegal escape,
together with her little son. After confronting rejection by
a conservative Israeli society and xenophobia in reunified
Germany, the author settled in the U.S. and has been
exploring questions of identity in the experience of
immigrants and contemplating the continuous struggles of
people striving for a better life and the refugee and
migrant crises in the world.
