Freedom is one of the most controversial concepts in the field of social practices and philosophical theories. Claims of freedom have sparked controversy. Examples include freedom from vaccination and social isolation during the pandemic, and freedom to exploit natural resources. The demand for unfettered freedom of expression on social media and by Big Tech companies has also led to heated debates. This collection presents some novel insights into classic works, while mobilizing established concepts and authors to analyze the pressing problems of today’s constitutional democracies.
