This Number includes contributions to the Jubilee Congress of the Commission on Legal Pluralism, held in Cape Town, South Africa on 8-10 September 2011. The papers represent several themes and topics addressed at the conference, including: gender (Corradi on women’s access to justice in Pemba City and Jackson and Gozdecka on Islamic dress and the rights discourse in Europe), legal reform (Ruppel and Ruppel-Schlichting on African legal architecture, Farran on land laws in the Pacific Island states), and science and technology (Parlee and Wiber on seafood traceability and food governance). Also included are two plenary presentations (Jentoft on the relationship between legal pluralism and governance and Griffiths on recent paradigms in research in legal pluralism)
