The study explores the organizational structure, modes of networking and
the survival strategies of Bangladeshi migrants in Malaysia. Looking at
the very diverse social reality, differentiation and power dimensions
within the community this study will facilitate our understanding of the
Bangladeshi Diaspora in selected multi-cultural social setting of Kuala
Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru.
Nayeem Sultana is an assistant professor at the department of
anthropology, Shah Jalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet,
Bangladesh. She was previously affiliated with ZEFa as a junior
researcher.
