Psychoanalytic feminism is stuck in the `feminist dilemma’:
it seems to constantly reiterate the constitutive binarism
of the gender war. This book suggests we turn to a Deleuzean
feminism and methodology in order to be able to describe the
sexes beyond the binary. Deleuze’s becoming-woman is based
on an ontology of desire which refutes the Lacanian `tyranny
of the past’ that dictates a constitutive lack at the base
of the subject which has its origin in the (m)other. Through
Deleuzean readings of cultural texts its potential to
describe new gender identities, or non-identities, will be
shown.
