Philosophy and Psychology in Dialogue / Philosophie und Psychologie im Dialog

In 1879, the first laboratory for experimental psychological research was founded and psychology emancipated from philosophy. Since then, the distance between both fields significantly increased. To address the societal challenges we are facing, however, philosophers and psychologists should work together. To understand the transformative impact of technoscience in a globalising world, methods and concepts of both philosophy and psychology are necessary. Notably, we aim to revitalise research traditions with a significant potential for assessing the present, such as phenomenology and psychoanalysis. Special attention will be given to the use of genres of the imagination (novels, cinema, theatre).
